It’s brilliant, the first snow of winter 2009 has officially arrived! Even on the South Coast where it’s quite unusual to get more than a few snow flurries, the snow has already started to settle. The kids are all excited because it could mean the end of the school term a few days early! Of course it’s not only kids who enjoy it when it snows. Even though I am nearing my mid 40′s, I still love the first snowfall of winter.
If only it could have stayed away for one more week, then we could have enjoyed a white Christmas. Call me soppy, but I still get a real tingle at the thought of drawing the curtains back on Christmas morning and seeing that we have had a heavy snowfall during the night and everywhere has that magical feeling about it.
Of course we all know that it will probably be pouring with rain and blowing a gale outside, so therefore totally miserable. Mind you that means I can get our coal fire stoked up and enjoy a cosy afternoon sitting in the lounge watching Eastenders and Coronation Street.
Oh the delights of Christmas, it can’t get much better than this, can it?
Well as a matter of fact it does. I have got all the travel brochures ready to go through to see where I can be heading for my next holiday.
I have such a selection, Safari Holidays, Kenya Holidays, Florida Holidays, Las Vegas holidays, you name the destination, I probably have the brochure.
I really enjoy looking through brochures to see what kind of adventure I could be planning and what sort of hotel I could choose. Some of the hotels are so plush that you can choose to book an all inclusive deal. At the other end of the spectrum you could choose to book something completely unique and spend your evenings in a tent enjoying the beautiful night sky. From a personal point of view I enjoy my creature comforts a little too much, so much as the night sky may be stunning, I would prefer to be looking at my hotel ceiling.
It doesn’t matter where I go on holiday, I know I will have a brilliant time and enjoy new adventures.
