In recent Years more and more tourists are looking for new vacation spots which afford something not found elsewhere or, the absolute minimum something rather than the usual holiday on a sunny beach. During these times of hardship large numbers of families are, alarmingly discovering that they have a much smaller budget for buying a vacation and are, obviously, having to making cutbacks to save money. One way of reaching this objective is to search for a less expensive destination. In the following article I introduce readers to the English city of Birmingham. With the euro and dollar so strong against the British pound Birmingham hotel accommodation is much cheaper than in years gone by.

The city of Birmingham is situated in the county of England known as the West Midlands  and the people who live in the city are called “Brummies”. The accent of the Brummy sounds like many other northern English accents and it is very problematic to understand fully what is being said a struggle which is made worse if if you have not heard these accents before. Thankfully nearly all Brummies are polite, kind and helpful and do their utmost to explain clearly so if the need arises don’t be afraid to engage in conversation about directions and help or advice about  Birmingham bed & breakfast.

Birmingham features  a superb collection of places to visit and things to do which include some incredibly informative art galleries and museums, such as the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and the Thinktank in the Eastside. The city of Birmingham also features an incredible number of square miles of parkland and woodland, Sutton Park  is the largest with 2,400 acres making it the largest urban nature reserve in the United Kingdom and the whole of Europe.

The city of Birmingham possesses a wide ranging and vibrant night scene with a large number restaurants, cafes, bars, wine bars and nightclubs. You will discover some of the most popular in one of the city’s squares, Victoria Square, Centenary Square, Chamberlain Square, St Martin’s Square, the historic Old Square at Corporation Street, Rotunda Square and the Gas Street Basin. Gas Street Basin is the hub of Birmingham’s intricate canal systems. Birmingham has about thirty two miles of canals with a total of eight canals which were created during the 18th century and remained in use nearly until the end of the 20th century. These days the area has been renovated and regenerated and is now a incredibly popular visitor attraction.

Rather than staying in a bed and breakfast why not ponder hiring Birmingham city or airport apartments. If you If you are currently considering a vacation in Birmingham you will need to know that Birmingham’s international airport is roughly eight miles distance from the the city center just off the A45 and near the M42 (junction 6). You will will be able to find a respectable number of bed and breakfasts and hotels nearby the airport.
